KARYA TULIS ILMIAH PENGARUH KONSENTRASI EKSTRAK BIJI PEPAYA (Carica papaya L) TERHADAP AKTIVITAS SPF PADA SEDIAAN LOTION

ABSTRAK
Tabir surya merupakan sediaan kosmetik yang digunakan dengan maksud memantulkan atau menyerap sinar UV sehingga dapat mengurangi jumlah radiasi UV yang berbahaya bagi kulit. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perlindungan kulit tambahan dengan dibuat sediaan kosmetika pelindung kulit, yaitu kosmetika tabir surya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa yang terdapat dalam ekstrak biji pepaya (Carica papaya L) dengan metode skrining fitokimia, untuk mengetahui nilai spf ekstrak biji pepaya (Carica papaya L), untuk mengetahui nilai SPF sediaan lotion ekstrak biji pepaya (Carica papaya L), dan pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak biji pepaya (Carica papaya L) terhadap SPF pada sediaan lotion. Biji pepaya (Carica papaya L) diekstrak menggunakan metode maserasi kemudian dipekatkan menggunakan rotary evaporator. Pada ekstrak yang diperoleh dilakukan uji fitokimia flavonoid, tanin, dan fenol. Uji aktivitas sun protecting factor (SPF) menggunakan metode analisis spektrofotometri UV-Vis dengan perbandingan konsentrasi pada setiap formulasi yaitu 2%, 4%, 6% b/v dan melakukan perhitungan SPF dengan menggunakan nilai CF Vaselin lotion SPF 24 sebagai kontrol positif. Data diolah menggunakan statistik uji One-Way Anova. Hasil uji fitokimia pada ekstrak biji pepaya (Carica papaya L) positif mengandung flavonoid, tanin, dan fenol. Ekstrak biji pepaya memiliki potensi sebagai tabir surya dengan nilai SPF 21,149. Hasil SPF sediaan lotion ekstrak biji pepaya adalah F1 8,62, F2 14,74, F3 19,51 yang ketiganya tergolong dalam kategori F1 dan F2 proteksi maksimal dan F3 proteksi ultra. Nilai yang diperoleh pada uji One-Way Anova adalah Sig = 0,000 < 0,050 sehingga menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak dalam sediaan lotion terhadap aktivitas nilai SPF.
ABSTRACT
Sunscreen is a cosmetic preparation used to reflect or absorb UV rays to reduce the amount of UV radiation that is harmful to the skin. Therefore, additional skin protection is needed by making skin protective cosmetic preparations, namely sunscreen cosmetics. This study aims to determine the content of compounds contained in papaya seed extract (Carica papaya L) with a phytochemical screening method, to determine the SPF value of papaya seed extract (Carica papaya L), to determine the SPF value of papaya seed extract (Carica papaya L) lotion preparations, and the effect of the concentration of papaya seed extract (Carica papaya L) on SPF in lotion preparations. Papaya seeds (Carica papaya L) were extracted using the maceration method and then concentrated using a rotary evaporator. The extract obtained was tested for phytochemicals for flavonoids, tannins, and phenols. The activity test of sun protecting factor (SPF) used UV-Vis spectrophotometric analysis method with a concentration ratio in each formulation of 2%, 4%, 6% w/v and calculated SPF using the CF value of Vaseline lotion SPF 24 as a positive control. The data was processed using One-Way Annova test statistics. The result of the phytochemicals test on papaya seed extract (Carica papaya L) was positive for containing flavonoids, tannins, and phenols. A Papaya seed extract has potential as a sunscreen with an SPF value of 21.149. The results of the SPF of the papaya seed extract lotion were F1 8.62, F2 14.74, and F3 19.5, all three of which belonged to the categories F1 and F2 maximum protection and F3 ultra protection. The value obtained in the One Way Anova test is Sig = 0.000 < 0.050, indicating that there is an effect of the concentration of the extract in the lotion preparation on the activity of the SPF value.
