ABSTRAK
Diabetes Melitus (DM) adalah penyakit degeneratif yang terjadi ketika tubuh pasien tidak dapat memproduksi cukup insulin atau tidak dapat menggunakan insulin secara efektif, yang ditandai dengan kadar glukosa darah lebih dari 200 mg/dl akibat kerusakan sel beta pankreas. Sel beta pankreas adalah sel yang bertanggung jawab memproduksi hormon insulin untuk mengontrol kadar glukosa darah. Menurut laporan Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) Indonesia, sebagian besar penderita DM berada pada pasien kelompok usia 55-64 tahun dan 65-74 tahun. Sebagian besar kasus DM terjadi pada pasien rentang usia lanjut. Karena usia merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi perubahan metabolisme tubuh terhadap kadar glukosa dalam darah. Pada usia lebih dari 40 tahun mulai terjadi penurunan proses metabolisme. Proses penuaan tersebut menimbulkan kurangnya produksi hormon insulin oleh sel beta pankreas dan peningkatan kadar glukosa darah yang berlebihan. Sehingga kepatuhan pasien lansia dalam mengkonsumsi obat anti diabetes menjadi salah satu faktor penentu dalam mengontrol kadar gula darah pasien. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kepatuhan minum obat anti diabetes pada pasien lansia terdiagnosa diabetes mellitus tipe 2 di desa Tempel, kecamatan Krian, kabupaten Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya dengan menggunakan 20 responden. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 47 responden yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Sampel yang telah diperoleh dibagi menjadi dua variabel : kepatuhan minum obat anti diabetes sebagai variabel independen, dan lansia yang menderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 sebagai variabel dependen. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kepatuhan minum obat anti diabetes pada pasien lansia didiagnosa diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Desa Tempel, Kecamatan Krian, Kabupaten Sidoarjo dapat dikategorikan dalam kategori kepatuhan tinggi.

ABSTRACT
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a degenerative disease that occurs patient's body cannot produce enough insulin or cannot use insulin effectively, characterized by blood glucose levels of more than 200 mg/dl due to pancreatic beta cell damage. Pancreatic beta cells are the cells responsible for producing the hormone insulin to control blood glucose levels. According to Indonesia's Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) report, most DM elderly patients are in the 55-64 and 65-74 age groups. Most cases of DM occur in the elderly age range. Age is one of the factors that affect changes in metabolism toward glucose levels in the blood. At the age of more than 40 years, the metabolic rate begins to decline. Due to the aging process, pancreatic beta cells lack insulin hormone production and an excessive increase in blood glucose levels. Hence, the compliance of elderly patients in taking anti-diabetic drugs is one of the determining factors in controlling the patient's blood sugar levels. This study aimed to determine the level of compliance with taking anti-diabetic drugs in elderly patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Tempel village, Krian sub-district, Sidoarjo district. This study used quantitative research methods with descriptive research design. This research instrument uses a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability by using 20 respondents. The samples in this study amounted to 47 respondents obtained using the total sampling technique. The samples obtained are divided into two variables: compliance with taking anti-diabetic drugs as an independent variable and the elderly patient who suffer from type 2 diabetes mellitus as the dependent variable. The results of this study can be concluded that the level of compliance with taking anti-diabetic drugs in elderly patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Tempel Village, Krian Sub-district, Sidoarjo Regency can be categorized in the high compliance category.
