Data from the central Bureau of Statistcs in2014 shows that 61,05% of Indonesia
perform self- medication. One of factors that encourage and influence people to do
self medication is advertisement inmass media, electronic and social media. Flu
(commond cold) is one of the commond disease that occour in the community, data
from the health office of the city Sidoarjo flu ( commond cold) is included in the
top 10 diseases that often occur in this last vunerable time. The purposeof this study
was to determine whether there was a relationship between the influence of cold
medicine adverrtisements (commond cold) with self-medication behavior in the
JasmineResidenceKrian housing community. This type research is an observational
cross-sectional design usiang a questionnaire with 75 respondents selected by
purposive sampling among the JasmineResidenceKrian housing community. The
results showed that 44% of respondents were influenced by advertisements for cold
medicines (commond cold), 56% of respondents behaved appropriately in selfmedication. Between the influence of cold advertisements (commond cold) and
self-medication behavior in the JasmineResidenceKrian community with the result
